Open scholarship makes an impact. Libraries from schools throughout the University of North Carolina System are active in helping faculty, students, and other researchers create and share open research and open scholarship projects in a variety of innovative ways. If you are looking for support or partnership opportunities in this area, your library is ready to help!
There are many ways to share your scholarship with the world, including creating your own open access monograph or journal, sharing your research data, making virtually any accepted journal article freely available, developing open educational resources that meet your students’ needs, and much more. These differing publishing projects require differing solutions. Contact your campus’s library and/or office of research to learn more about what services and support may be available to you.
Many of the UNC System institutions have funding support for open access publishing available as a result of Carolina Consortium arrangements; some individual institutions have worked directly with other publishers to facilitate additional funding discounts and/or waivers. Carolina Consortium publisher deals include Annual Reviews, Cambridge University Press, Sage, and Wiley. For more information about which publisher deals are applicable to your institution or to determine if additional publisher funding opportunities are available to authors at your institution, contact the institutional representative listed below.
