Generative AI and OER: Considerations for Creators

BCcampus provides grant funding to authors for the development of Open Educational Resources. With the recent interest in generative AI and its ability to generate content, we have been receiving questions from our grantees who are developing OER about the appropriate use of generative AI to help with the content creation process. To help address their questions, the BCcampus open education team developed a set of 5 considerations and 8 recommendations for OER grantees on how they might approach using generative AI when developing OER. In this session, Clint will talk about the considerations and recommendations, the process of developing them, and will be looking for feedback from DOERS3 on the recommendations and guidelines and how they could be improved or enhanced.
