The Journal of Effective Teaching in Higher Education is pleased to announce the publication of a special issue entitled In the Along: Curricular and Pedagogical Imperatives for Black Mattering. The expert guest editors, Drs. Wilson Okello and TJ Stewart, have assembled eight articles and one book review that explore how educational institutions and the educators within leverage pedagogies and curricula in ways that engender conditions that reproduce anti-Black racism in and beyond educational contexts, articulate those conditions and their material effects on Black students and educators, and provide theoretical and praxis-based responses essential for all educators and administrators who want to create just and productive learning environments.

JETHE is supported by the Center for Teaching Excellence and Center Faculty Leadership at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The journal is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals, has a 20-30% acceptance rate, and generally processes submissions within 90 days. JETHE seeks submissions that advance the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) focused on institutions of higher education. Theoretical explorations, evidence-based studies, and praxis submissions are welcome.
